So today is the big unveiling day for the 7th Annual Bead Soup Exchange, and my exchange partner this year was the multi-talented artist/jewelry designer/bead maker
Karyn Lewis Bonfiglio.
Click here to see the beautiful beads Karyn sent me to work with, and you can see the beads I sent her.

This is a closeup of the pendant's "hangy dangy", which is comprised of black cord, silver chain, the silver focal medallion Karyn sent along with the beautiful hand-made polymer clay, glazed ceramic, jadeite blue and green beads that Karyn sent. She also included the silver flower petal beads that are attached to the chain with a bright peacock-colored silk tie and some of my lampworked beads, 2 keys and some copper and silver beads.

Here's a shot of the pendant with 2 matching bracelets and 2 sets of asymmetrical earrings. This was such a fun color combination to play with and no matter how hard I tried to stay away from bringing the ocean into the theme, I just had to add that double-shell centerpiece on the bracelet in the lower left of the photo.
|
Here's a photo of the 2nd bracelet using the lovely silver clasp Karyn sent me. It goes perfectly with the silver medallion centerpiece on the pendant, which sports an engraving of a Trumpet Vine flower! |
|
Please forgive the blurred photos of this closeup shot. In addition to adding the shell centerpiece on the bracelet, I used copper findings with 2 Boulder Opal beads that really "came alive" when set next to the blue and green Jadeite beads. You can see a bit of the blue and green if you look closely!

This was a really fun exchange and I was blessed to have such a talented bead buddy to trade with. Be sure to

Awesome work. Love the bracelets.
ReplyDeleteLove the coloring and pairing of beads on each item. Love love the necklace :)
ReplyDeleteNice cooking - you did a great job! I also saw a lot of beautiful paintings here - adorable art!
ReplyDeleteAll of your pieces are beautiful but my favourite(s) are the two bracelets. Turquoise does match copper and silver. They're lovely. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteWow, they are very pretty. I like that shell-look container in the third picture. Is that like a holder for these accessories?
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with us!
Simple and elegant.
ReplyDeleteLOL - I love your technical descriptions "hangy dangy"! Thanks for making me laugh this morning! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces - I don't think I could have stayed away from some reference to the ocean with that wonderful color scheme. Who am I kidding? I know I couldn't! Beautiful work, and I always love your lampworked beads, especially the spiral waterdrops.
Your necklace is very eclectic. I like it very much! I was scrolling down and saw your paintings...very awesome! You are a very talented artist in many ways! Thank you for sharing your talents!

Super Fun and Funky! Love your style!
ReplyDeleteNice :)
ReplyDeleteOh, everything turned out so great! I love the mixed texture you created along the length of the necklace, and the wonderfully eclectic 'hangy dangy'. I wouldn't stop fiddling with it if I was wearing it. Wonderful! The bracelets are so pretty too, love the mix of color in them, and they look like they'd go perfect with just about everything. I think we were channeling the same muse, or muse sisters, on this swap, with our colors and silhouettes and texture. :D Thanks so much for being my partner!

ReplyDeleteI love all of it! I love that it's everyday wear type jewelry. You could give a bracelet/earring set to a good friend, and it would make great conversation if say, you were out for lunch together. This is the first batch where I would wear everything created for the BSBP. Brilliant work.
DeleteCould there be a more perfect palette for your beautiful, airy creations? I just adore (and would wear the heck out of!) both bracelets!
ReplyDeleteI do love mixed media jewelry. Wonderful thought out necklace! Kristin Oppold
